My garden is turning gold and red and burgundy; only a few leaves resist the changing of the season and remain undisturbed in their greenness.
1 red grapefruit
3 carrots (if small like the one in the photo)
1 quarter of a big cucumber
1.- Peel the lime and grapefruit and cut in half.
2.- If you want your juice to be extra orange, peel the cucumber, otherwise just wash it, together with the carrots.
3.- Place everything in a juicer and juice!
Tastes on the veggie side of things. This is not a fruity juice, and the lime makes it rather sharp. I like that sort of flavour, specially in the morning; it wakes me up. If you prefer something more sweet and fruity, replace the grapefruit for a mango.
What’s good about it?
Limes are full of vitamin C which boosts the immune system.
Cucumbers are almost 90% water; this high water content plus the dietary fibre in cucumbers, makes them very effective in ridding the body of toxins from the digestive system, aiding digestion.
Grapefruit is rich in potassium, calcium and magnesium. It supports heart health and prevents calcium deposits.
Carrots have beta-carotene, calcium, magnesium and folic acid. They help cleanse the liver, encourage detoxing and support eye function.
